A minor autumn reshuffle for Atina’s local council? According to Mayor Fausto Lancia, the ruling coalition is currently engaged in a thorough review. This particular reshuffle is expected to take place within the executive committee. Rumours of a minor “upheaval”, heralding some sort of change, are becoming increasingly frequent and persistent in the Samnite town these days. A few months ago, there was already talk of changes within the ranks of the ruling coalition, but at that time nothing was on the horizon. Today, however, the situation appears to be quite different.
«The story of this minor reshuffle has been going on for a few months now,» said Fausto Lancia, the mayor of Atina. “At the time, however, it was completely out of the question. In fact, over the summer we’ve been having low-key discussions about how to step up a gear and inject more energy into our administrative work. A change that should generate greater momentum. Exactly how this change will take place is still to be determined, and I am personally giving the matter some thought. I am giving serious consideration to how best to give my administration a more vigorous boost. In short,’ continued the mayor, ‘there is certainly something in the air that could give the administrative machinery greater strength. As I have already said, we are considering our options, and this could also lead, at the level of the departments, to some changes in current roles – a reshuffle. But that is not to say that more decisive changes might not also take place. Furthermore – concluded Lancia – having reached the halfway point of our electoral term, a moment of reflection and contemplation is only right.’.
