Atina is also set to become a town under video surveillance. Six cameras will be installed across the town. However, a varying number of additional cameras will also be installed in the other towns that form part of the “Comunium” Association of Municipalities. In addition to the Samnite town, the association includes Picinisco, San Biagio Saracinisco, Casalattico, Belmonte Castello, Terelle and Villa Latina. CCTV cameras will soon be installed in each of these towns, which have chosen to submit a joint project. In fact, a tender will be launched in the coming days to select a company to install the equipment. The installation of CCTV cameras to monitor key areas of the valley is certainly a great help not only to local authorities but also to the police. Who knows whether turning the area into a sort of Big Brother will be enough to curb vandalism and various forms of abuse.
